AMD Athlon 2400
1GB ram
Geforce 6200 / 265MB (since couple of days, upgraded from FX5200 which also worked nice with GW)
Creative Audigy soundcard
17" Iiyama TFT screen
Logitec Trackman marble wheel (since I use a regular mouse at work I use a trackball at home to minimise RSI).

I'm running GW on alternative hardware profile, to prevent all kinds of services to start up.
This saves me about 3 minutes startup time and does free up some ram and processortime.

I think mine does, actually...

BTW, can anyone recommend a good video card in the $150 range(512MB, NVidia preffered).

Ooooh, machines eh, well, theres a number of different machines I use, so I'll just get on with posting them:

Guild wars/Gaming/Video rig:

AMD 64 3500 OCed to 2.4Ghz
Custom Akasa heatpipe CPU cooler
2x512MB Kingston DDR400 in dual channel
Abit AV8 K8T800pro Mobo
Leadtek Geforce 6800GT AGP @ 400/1000Mhz
Seagate 120GB HDD
Samsung 120GB HDD
Samsung DVD-ROM
Thermaltake 'Tsunami' Case, black, with window.
Tagan 480W PSU (Had fun squeezing this into the case, oh yes - took me 3 hours to route all the wiring, not to mention getting such a long PSU through such a small gap.)
Windows XP Pro SP2
Other peoples internet connections

Had this one since January last year - my pride and joy and rightly so, cause it cost me enough!

2nd Gaming rig (Work in Progress)

AMD Athlon XP 3000+
256MB Kingston DDR400
Asrock K7SX Mobo
ATI Radeon 7000 (MUST KILL!)
Maxtor 160GB HDD
Generic 8x DVD+-RW Drive
Generic, but tough and well made steel case.
Generic 350W PSU
Currently lacking an O/S

Computer I most regularly use to play GW: Internet Cafe machine

AMD 64 3700
2x512MB Corsair Value DDR400
Gigabyte mobo - ( dunno what it is, but general experience suggests that GB mobos are cheap and nasty pieces of work.)
XFX Geforce 6800GS
Maxtor 250GB HDD
LG DVD ROM
Flashy but structually-integral-as-a-chocolate-teapot case.
Downright despicable '8Mb' Bulldog internet connection.

Posted this one cause I don't have my own internet connection, so the majority of my GW time (>1400 hours) is from playing at the IC. I know whats in em, cause I helped em pick the parts they were gonna use to some extent

By that, you mean a card with 512MB ram, right?

Word of advice: When looking for a budget card, the amount of ram it has will usually mean next to nothing - what should be looked for is the speed of the ram and the type. My pick for that price range would be a 7600GT. Yeah, no 512MB, but it'll beat any card with 512MB at that price, easily.

My how things have changed! I still remember selling the Atari 400 and 800 way back in the day. Oh how I hated the "chicklet" keyboard.

Here is the first computer I worked on:

My mother was a programmer, so I often played around with "Computer Games" on it. Who can forget "XYZZY", "PLUGH", and "You are in a maze of twistly passages, all alike"? Oh how far games have progressed in the last 35 years.

My first "Home Computer" (not counting the "portable" my mom used occasionally, a paper printout dumb terminal with 300 baud acoustic modem) was a Commodore Pet:

After that came a slew of them. VIC-20, C-64, Lisa, and the original Macintosh. Then I got my first "PC", a Franklin PC-8000.

An 8088, 512K RAM, 2 floppy drives, CGA graphics. I added the 40 MB SCSI hard drive myself. After that camy my home-built 80286, 80386SX, 80386DX, 80486 DX, Multiple AMD K6 and Athlon systems, to my current one.

Looking back so far, it is amazing how far we have come, in such a short amount of time. Now excuse me, while I search the net for a copy of "Colossal Cave".

Hehe thank god I don't have that old pile of sh*te anymore, even then that Celeron wouldn't be much quicker as it's based on Pentium 2s IIRC and has a tiny L2 cache of 128kB.

I have four computers that I run bu only 2 that I dedicate to online gaming:

My gaming rig:
intel 3.4ghz 651 prescot (replaced the older 650 version)
Intel X975XBX motherboard
2 gigs of kingston ram(budjet ram but still good)
ATI X1900 XTX video card
Sound blaster X-Fi sound card
2 western digital raptors mirrored
1 250 gig seagate hd for storage duties
HP litescribe enabled DVD burner
Lite on cd burner
Enermax 600 watt power supply(SLI certified)

my second isnt as well setup but nic none the less

2.8 socket 478 intel cpu
asus p4b533 mobo
ati 9800 pro video card
2 gigs of ram(again the kingston value select)
sound blaster audigy 2 sound card
pioneer dvd/cd burner
2 western digital raptors mirrored(the ide style this mobo doesnt have sata)
2 seagate 250 gig harddrives for storage(I use this one for video editing also so i need the space)

Both play guild wars quite well and i am very happy with them.
I dont laugh at others machines due to the fact that everyone has to start somewhere. Even I started with an original HP with a pentium 2 in it.

Hehe i can top that

AMD 1400+ (1250MHz)
1 Gig Corsair
MSI KT400 (not even dual channel)
Nvidia GeForce4 Ti4200 AGP8x
Muse 5.1 DVD although i more frequently play with my Logitech headset which has a seperate driver.
